While Norway remains Geminor’s largest market, the group’s growth is becoming increasingly diversified across Europe.
“This result reflects several years of building a broader sourcing platform across Europe. We’re seeing the benefit of having strong local teams across multiple markets, and it is encouraging to see that effort come through in the numbers,” says Ralf Schöpwinkel, Chief Commercial Officer at Geminor.
Geminor expects market conditions to become more challenging in the coming years. New incineration capacity is coming online in both the UK and Germany. While more UK residual waste is expected to remain in the domestic market rather than being exported, weaker industrial activity across Europe may reduce the supply of commercial and industrial waste, increasing competition for available volumes across the region.
“These market shifts make local presence more important than ever. Our teams operate across 15 countries, giving us access to a broader sourcing base and the flexibility to adapt as waste flows change. That flexibility is becoming a key competitive advantage,” says Schöpwinkel.
Geminor will continue developing new sourcing markets across Europe, particularly in countries where significant volumes of residual waste are still landfilled. Building these markets takes time and long-term partnerships but strengthens future supply as competition for waste volumes increases across Europe.
The company will report its full-year 2026 volumes in the first quarter of 2027.
