Research & Development

Our R&D efforts are focused on advancing waste management through innovation, collaboration, and testing. We explore new methods, technologies, and partnerships to improve material recovery, traceability, and environmental performance across the value chain.

Innovative Solutions for a Circular Future

At Geminor, research doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in the yard, on the weighbridge, and in the lab. Our team knows waste. From sampling and sorting to analysing fuel quality and emissions, we believe good science starts with good data, even if that means getting our hands dirty.

Pilot Projects & Trials

We conduct real-world testing of new fractions, logistics setups, and treatment methods together with partners and off-takers.

Technology-Driven Development

We work with AI, sensor technology, and software to improve waste sorting, classification, and flow tracking.

Research Collaboration

We collaborate with universities, tech startups, and facilities to drive innovation and validate new processes.

FAQs

Find quick answers to common questions about Geminor, waste recovery, and our services across Europe.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, we’re happy to help.

What kind of expertise does Geminor bring to R&D projects?

Our team combines applied R&D expertise across the full waste value chain, from supplier-side waste composition and feedstock variability through to sorting line operations, processing, baling, storage, and logistics. We work hands-on with fuel characterisation (RDF/SRF), feeding behaviour and plant compatibility for waste-to-energy and cement offtakers, with a specific focus on understanding and quantifying fossil carbon within waste streams. This is supported by large quality datasets, in-house digital tools, and operational experience across European and international markets.

Can Geminor collaborate on funded research projects?

Absolutely. We regularly collaborate on grant-funded and joint R&D projects with industry partners, research institutions, and public bodies to advance sustainable waste and resource recovery solutions.

Does Geminor offer R&D as a service?

Yes. We offer R&D as a service for partners seeking technical analysis, market insight, or sustainability reporting related to waste quality, processing, waste fuels optimisation/decarbonisation.

What is a Geminor R&D agreement?

A Geminor R&D agreement defines how we work with partners on research and development projects. Depending on the project, we may provide consultancy services and deliver reports as a service, or collaborate jointly to develop new knowledge, processes, or technologies.

Let’s discuss how Geminor can turn waste into value.
