Geminor has been awarded a tender to handle and treat hazardous waste from Estonia, strengthening the company’s strategic focus on hazardous fractions and reinforcing its position in the Nordic and Baltic markets.

The contract covers the management of fly ash and APC residue from waste-to-energy operations, which are classified as hazardous waste and require specialised treatment solutions. The agreement spans three years and comprises a total volume of approximately 34,500 tons.

The tender win represents an important step in Geminor’s long-term growth strategy within hazardous waste, where regulatory complexity, specialised logistics and strong downstream partnerships are critical success factors.

“Securing this contract is an important milestone in our strategy to grow within hazardous waste, both in Geminor Finland and across the Group,” said Ismo Hiltunen, Country Manager at Geminor Fin Oy. “It demonstrates our ability to manage complex waste fractions and deliver reliable, compliant solutions across borders.”

As part of the agreement, Geminor will manage the entire value chain, including specialised transport and treatment of hazardous waste, and coordination of cross-border waste shipments in accordance with applicable regulations. The project also marks renewed activity for Geminor in the Estonian market after several years without ongoing contracts.

The tender was awarded following a competitive process and reflects Geminor’s strengthened market position within hazardous waste, a priority growth area for the company.
