“It feels right to be back,” says Ralf. “I’m looking forward to contributing again and exploring new opportunities for Geminor. Developing markets, spotting trends, and navigating complexity have always been part of what drives me, and there’s no shortage of that in the industry now.”
Ralf has been part of Geminor since its early years. He joined the board in 2005 and became a co-owner and full-time employee in 2008. Since then, he has played a central role in the company’s international expansion, helping establish operations in the UK, Finland, Denmark, Germany and Italy. Much of Geminor’s pan-European growth has been driven by establishing operations with a strong local presence and market understanding – a principle he continues to advocate.
Most recently, Ralf served as Managing Director of Polynate, a joint venture between Geminor and Viridor, with a focus on business development in the field of plastic recycling.
At Geminor, Ralf will focus on strategic market development, initially with a particular emphasis on Germany, the Netherlands and emerging markets. He highlights that there are many opportunities for Geminor, both in its existing markets and new markets.
What continues to motivate Ralf is not only business growth, but also the chance to influence how markets evolve. “We’ve played a key role in shaping the waste-to-energy markets in Europe. Geminor is not like other waste companies; we’re asset-light, agile, and truly pan-European. That gives us room to innovate and adapt quickly, and I see great potential in building further on that.”
